Tips For Cleaning Your Kitchen Appliances:

Refrigerator
It is important to clean your refrigerator once in every month. Begin by removing all food items, jars, boxes and stored items from your fridge. Discard all expired foods, empty containers and jars. Next, dislodge all the drawers, shelves and trays. Be gentle while taking off the glass shelves.

Rinse the shelves and drawers with a mixture of mild soap, lukewarm water and a small amount of baking soda, to get rid of the grease, dirt and odor. Using a dry clean cloth and a soapy solution, swab the interiors of the refrigerator and freezer, before restoring the shelves, drawers and food back.

Dishwasher
To clean your dishwasher, put a coffer cup filled with vinegar in the dish washing rack and run it through a complete cycle, using the hottest water setting available. If your dishwasher still doesn't smell right, try this: sprinkle a cup of baking soda around the bottom of the tub and again run it through a complete cycle using the hottest water.  Using a mild soapy solution, gently scrub the top, bottom and edges of your machine.. If your dishwasher has a filter in the bottom, pull it out, rinse it and clean it thoroughly.

Microwave
To clean your microwave oven, remove the glass tray from the  microwave  and rinse it gently with a mild soapy solution  by hand or in the dishwasher   .

Next, Wipe down the inside of the microwave using a mild dishwashing liquid, general all-purpose cleaner or a mild baking soda solution.

For more stubborn stains, you can use 1 cup of water and ¼ cup of vinegar. Mix it well and microwave it for 2-3 minutes. Turn off the microwave and leave the bowl there for 15 minutes with the door closed. Remove the bowl from the microwave  and again wipe down the inside. The built-up dirt should be easy to remove now.

Blender
To clean a blender, squirt a few drops of liquid soap into it, fill halfway with warm water, cover and blend away the mess. Rinse and repeat if necessary. You can also use this method for food processors

Stove

To clean your kitchen stove, start by bumping off the knobs, grates and burner covers and cleaning them.
Gently wipe the surface of your stove and then dip it in hot, soapy water using a good dish detergent.
If things are really grimy, you might want to try a commercial degreasing product.
Just make sure to follow the package directions  However, refrain from using abrasives on your stove top because they can scratch or damage the surface.

If you have a gas stove, be careful around the gas ports because you can wipe dirt, grease and cleaning solution into the port and the port can get clogged.
If this happens, use a toothpick to carefully clean the opening before using the burner.

If you don't have a self-cleaning oven, place racks in the bathtub with about 1/2 cup dishwasher detergent and cover them with several inches of warm water.
Let the racks soak for 45 minutes, then rinse and dry.
Make Your Own Cleaning Solutions
Finally, wash the walls and the cabinets behind and to the sides of the stove.

For glass cooktops, there are special commercial cleaners that work well. Use them with a hard plastic scraper to remove burned-on food. Clean your glass cooktop as soon as it cools to avoid having to scrub burned food.

The garbage disposal

Put  lemon or lime pieces through the garbage disposal every few days for a clean fresh smell. To freshen the garbage disposal, sprinkle a couple of tablespoons of baking soda down the drain, drop in two ice cubes and turn it on. Then run the hot water for a few minutes while the disposal is working.

 Sink faucet
For lime and mineral deposits on your kitchen sink faucet, wrap vinegar-soaked paper towels around faucets for about an hour. This breaks down the mineral scale, and the chrome will be clean and shiny after buffing with a dry paper towel.

How to Clean Your Kitchen Appliances Properly

Guidelines

  1. Dry baking soda cleans chrome perfectly.
  2. Cream of tartar and water mixed to a paste will clean porcelain.
  3. A paste of baking soda and water will clean coffee stains.
  4. Plain liquid Ivory soap mixed with water is one of the best all-purpose cleaners. You can keep this solution in a spray bottle, but only use a bit of soap or the mixture may become too foamy to spray.
  5. Use a cut lemon half sprinkled with salt to clean copper.
  6. Dissolve 1/4 cup baking soda in 1 quart of warm water for a good general cleaner.
  7. Don't mix ammonia and bleach because it will create toxic fumes
  8. A sponge is actually a great way to spread germs. I prefer using paper towels, discarding them after cleaning each surface, to totally prevent cross-contamination.
  9. Have a place for everything
