It's the perfect way to add continuous fragrance to your home without spending a fortune.

This is a great DIY gel air freshener that smells great, is cheap & easy, and environmentally friendly!   It’s even safe for those individuals who are allergic to perfumes and sensitive to smells because it uses essential oils rather than perfumes.

Hands On Time: 10 mins

Total time: 45 mins
Yield: Approximately 1 8 oz jar (or 2 4oz)
Ingredients
2 c pure distilled water

Stir in 4 packages of unflavored gelatin (e.g., Knox) until dissolved.

Add 10 drops any Essential Oil.

2 T table salt
(Opt) Food coloring (If desired, add food coloring to tint your gel).

Directions
1.  Place 1c of distilled water in a pan and bring to a boil.
2.  Add the gelatin and stir until dissolved.
3.  Remove pan from range and add the salt, essential oil, food coloring, and remaining water.
4.  Place the mixture into small jars and allow it to remain at room temperature for about 12 hours.
The added salt should eliminate mold from forming, but if it does this gelatin air freshener dissolves in water.

Use your imagination to make gel air fresheners that are as interesting as they are fragrant. For instance, you could add small plastic strawberries or cherries to a pint size jelly jar and fill the jar with red cherry or strawberry scented gel. Place a canning jar lid and ring on top and you've got a very unique and decorative kitchen air freshener.
